* Ellen Savage is shown as 'widow' in the 1851 Census, and 'mother-in-law' in the 1861 Census information. She is likely, therefore to be the mother of Johanna Litton senior (nee Savage). Ellen Savage was born around 1785 in Limerick, Ireland, which makes her a little older than the nominal '70 years' shown on the census form. She died in 1866, aged 81, in Marylebone, London, Middlesex, England.
