Stephan lived in Leondale and Randburg before returning to the UK in 1988.
Stephan started working at the United Building Society in 1977, and studied at Damelin for a Diploma in Financial Management in 1980. He qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1984, and worked as Company Secretary for Northern Trust until he returned to the UK in 1985. He stayed in the UK for about 18 months and then returned to SA for a year, finally moving to Gloucester, UK in 1988. He lived in Swindon, UK, from about 1997/8 until November 2004, when he moved to Wiltshire.
Career-wise, Stephan has been very succesful in managing financial services firms. For the past twelve years or so, he has worked in the field of compliance. This included a period of working in the Regulatory Consulting Practice of Deloitte & Touche in Bristol. He is currently working as the Head of Compliance at Vertex Life and Pensions in Gloucester, UK.
He married Mandy Pilley from Glenhazel in 1980 and had three lovely children: Bronwen (1984), Christopher (1987), and Megan (1993). Stephan and Mandy later divorced (1997) and he has since remarried Diane (2000).
Stephan is still very much into his music, and released a single in South Africa in 1982, and a number of demos received airplay over the years. He continues to record, and has developed his studio from a four-track portastudio, to an 8-track reel to reel, and now it is computer-based.
He came back to South Africa for a holiday in 1992, then for another family holiday in February / March 2004. Stephan and Diane came to visit South Africa again in December 2006. Stephan would welcome any contact from people that remember him.
