Tswaing Crater


Aerial view of Tswaing crater. The crater, which was formed by a meteorite impact, is 1.2 km in diameter. The crater floor lies 120 m below the rim, which is raised more than 60 m above the surrounding granitic rocks of the Bushveld Complex (photo by the late Herman Potgieter, courtesy of African Panorama).
