John Jones

Born: Probably 1788/1792, Oldswinford, Worcestershire
Married: Ann Scott, (born 1799/1801 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire), 5 December 1819, Kidderminster
Ann Scott (1801-1872) was the daughter of George Scott of Stourbridge.
The witness on the marriage certificate is William Vaile (1826-1886) and his second wife Mary.
(William Vaile's first wife was Mary Elizabeth Scott, a grand-daughter of George Scott.)
Children: Ellen Jones, ~1835, Oldswinford, Worcestershire
George Jones, ~1838/9, (Oldswinford), Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England
Mary Ann Jones, ~1841, Oldswinford, Worcestershire
Occupation: Labourer
Address: 1851: Windmill Street, Oldswinford, Stourbridge, Worcestershire
1861: 29 Church Street, Stourbridge, Worcestershire (Parish: St Marys Oldswinford, Stourbridge)

Some of the information here is slightly speculative. This John Jones is almost certainly the father of my ancestor George Jones. The marriage certificate of George Jones says that his father's name was John, and says that George was a tailor, and that John was a labourer. The '29 Church Street, Stourbridge' address in the 1861 Census matches perfectly with Harriet Ann Jones's birth information from 1863.
