The Carnivore restaurant is situated in Muldersdrift, overlooking the picturesque Swartkop Hills. This award-winning restaurant offers a true African Experience to locals and tourists alike. Inspired by the world-famous restaurant of the same name in Kenya, the Carnivore Restaurant was opened in 1993.

The main attraction is the huge open fireplace where succulent joints of meat are roasted to perfection. The meal starts with homemade soup of the day and honeybread. A selection of salads, meatsauces, "pap" and gravy, baked potatoes, and piping hot cast iron plates are brought to the table.

Waiters in striped butcher aprons come from the fireplace with Maasai swords holding charcoal-grilled joints of meat, which is sliced directly on to the plates of eager guests. The choice of metas includes chicken, spareribs, beef, lamb, venison such as kudu, impala, ostrich, crocodile, and zebra, to name but a few. A selection of five different desserts and Kenyan coffee or tea rounds off the meal.

Unusual vegetarian dishes are served for the not so carnivorous, and an a la carte menu is also available. The Carnivore can also accommodate corporate functions, with seating for 550 people. Approximate costs (in 2006) are R140 per person for lunch, and R160 for dinner, including VAT.
